Look after yourself and celebrate male mateship on Friday as Movember’s MAYEIGHT festival comes to your home for a day of mental health, comedy and music.
The day’s events are all about fun and fitness. It kicks off at 7am with a workout where the idea is you connect up with a mate and get through it together. There’s some Zoomba, yoga and meditation, then at 5pm the music begins with Bag Raiders and Hockey Dad before a bit of comedy then more music from The Aston Shuffle, Set Mo and Close Counters.
The whole thing is designed to strengthen men’s support networks and encourage mates to check in with each other. Set up a “mate date” and tell each other how you are feeling. See the whole thing on the Movember Facebook page.
Most of us aren’t in Byron Bay right now but legendary Aussie rockers The Living End are, live-streaming a show from the idyll’s famous pub The Northern as part of Coopers and Live Nation’s Live, Loud and Local on Saturday night. Settle in and see the lads rip out classics such as Prisoner of Society, Second Solution and All Torn Down. You can’t get to a pub, but you can bring the pub to your house via the Live, Loud and Local website.
