RBSA Anniversary Exhibition 2020

Celebrating 20 years at the RBSA’s current location in the Jewellery Quarter, the RBSA Anniversary Exhibition brings together Collection Acquisitions from the last 20 years alongside artwork by current RBSA Members and Associates.

In April 2000, after being based at New Street in Birmingham since 1829, the RBSA relocated to our current gallery just off St Paul’s Square.

The exhibition is also on display over two floors in the RBSA Gallery from 28 July – 5 September.

The gallery and shop is open from 10.30am – 5pm on Tuesday – Saturday. Admission is free.

All artworks by RBSA Members and Associates are available to buy (excluding commissions) and sales support the artist and RBSA Gallery.

From the RBSA Archive

The RBSA was established in 1814 with the Collection & Archive dating to the early 1800’s. Many works in the Collection are made by RBSA Members and Associates. There is an ongoing acquisitions programme and the Collection has grown significantly in the last 20 years.

The selection for the Anniversary Exhibition was made by RBSA Archive Officer Nigel Priddey.

Work by RBSA Members

Representing the development of artistic practice at the RBSA over the last two decades, this selection comprises 118 works by current Members, Associates and Next Wave Associates.

We’d like to thank all those who entered work for the exhibition and supporting the gallery with their membership.

The RBSA has a central governing body, the RBSA Council, who elect artists to be Members and Associates. Find out more about the election process.
