I received a press release from Jazz at Lincoln Center stating that they have an initial list of musicians who will be participating in sessions at Jazz Congress 2020. Before I get into the list, I have to admit that I hadn’t heard of “Jazz Congress” before, and wanted to learn what exactly it is. The Jazz Congress is an annual conference designed to bring together artists, media and industry leaders in the global jazz community, with a goal of exchanging ideas in order to nurture and grow the jazz community and the underlying business and organizations that promote, produce, present, market and support the music.
